Breathe, the pioneering festival installation by Pinkeye x MINI
More and more, cities lack places to breathe freely. The opportunity to escape from the frentic and impersonal pace of urban life, to share time with friends ( to eat, discuss, meet…) is becoming increasingly rare. Yet, these moments are veritable breaths of fresh air. This is why MINI has joined forces with Pinkeye creative director Ruud Belmans to create the installation «Breathe» MINI LIVING. An island set in the middle of a large expanse of water in front of the Visment, in the centre of Brussels, that includes a large, round table. To offer uniques moments for city dwellers to share. The installation uses its own natural materials to filter and purify the environmental air in order to offer a fresh breath of air to the city and its inhabitants. This piece of work incarnates the concept of shared urban living that respects the planet.
Dates: from 7 to 30/09/2017

This year, Design September features creative work shops and their members. It is a doublebarrelled event : A common exhibition at the BIP where each FabLab will show the work of its makers and an open-house weekend (16 and 17 September 17) that offers a trip across the city and its spaces for apprenticeship and creation.
Born in the late Nineties at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Center for Bits and Atoms, at the initiative of Professor Neil Gershenfeld, the FabLabs are Do-It-Yourself (DYI) workshops that focus on engineering and the creation of material objects by digital processes. These spaces for exchange and co-creation allow for the research, design, exploration, experimentation and production of prototypes and finished objects.
Dates: from 14 to 30/09/2017
