In December Brussels will open the Art & Design Atomium Museum (ADAM) in the Trade Mart complex in Heysel
This is no ordinary museum – in addition to offering attractive packages for groups and events, the permanent Plasticarium exhibition is the only one of its kind in the world…
With more than 2000 plastic objects ranging from everyday gadgets to works of art, ADAM’s Plasticarium reminds us how this material changed our lives forever. The collection covers the period from the golden age of plastics in the early 60s through pop art and the post-modern era up until 2000. Exhibits in the 1500 m² hall will be rotated every year to keep the experience fresh.

The ADAM also presents temporary exhibitions in 1000 m² of space dedicated to contemporary art and design. A reception hall, concept store, café serving fresh snacks, auditorium and lab complete the facilities – which lie only 100 metres from the Atomium, next to Hall 5 in the Expo Park.
Organised for groups
This new ADAM venture adds a cultural dimension to the Expo and Atomium area, promising to attract new visitors to the site. Group activities are given high priority:
–visits and guided tours all year round, led by multilingual guides specialized in contemporary arts;
–group workshops based on themes linked to the exhibitions, run by art historians and artists;
–lectures, films and documentary screenings on art and design.
Original event site
ADAM is also an interesting new venue for private events with the multi-purpose Auditorium available day + night (400 m², seated dining 220 participants, standing buffet 350 participants, theatre seating 300 participants).
For evenings only, the main entrance hall can be added to the Auditorium offering 650 m², seated dining for 320 participants and standing buffet for 500.
Flexible space options, subject to availability, can provide between 130 and 800 m² to suit individual needs.
Watch out for the ADAM grand opening on 11th Dec 2015!
