The main event for fine wine and gourmet cuisine

At eat! BRUSSELS, drink! BORDEAUX, the Bordeaux School of Wine’s workshops and Masterclasses give top billing to Bordeaux wines.

From 7-10 September 2017 at the eat! BRUSSELS, drink! BORDEAUX Festival, Visitors will be able to savour delicious dishes and appreciate a diverse selection of Bordeaux wines at their leisure. To quench their thirst for knowledge, wine lovers will also be able to indulge their interest by participating in masterclasses and Bordeaux School of Wine workshops. It’s a great way to discover hidden gems and taste the finest wines.

Eat! BRUSSELS, drink! BORDEAUX is clearly the main event for fine wine and gourmet cuisine. It’s a chance to take a foodie break and get the most out of the last few days of summer in a pleasant Parc de Bruxelles setting. The festival also gives visitors a real opportunity to join in the festivities by participating in Bordeaux Wines masterclasses and workshops.

Two new gourmet workshops offered by the Bordeaux School of Wine

An essential gathering place for wine lovers and foodies, the Bordeaux School of Wine’s pavilion offers a fun and educational survey of different wines (red, dry white, sweet white, rosé, and Bordeaux sparkling wines), terroirs, varietals, blends, etc. A great initiation to the art of wine tasting.

This year the school and its enthusiastic team of trainers have a number of surprises in store including two new workshops on chocolate and pastries:

  • “Choco Bordeaux,” duo with Laurent Gerbaud, the famous Brussels chocolatier for a combined introduction into Bordeaux Wines / Chocolate.
  • Pastry pairings with eat! BRUSSELS, drink! BORDEAUX’s master pastry chefs! Yasushi Sasaki, Baptiste Mandon, and Khalil Menzi to try out bold pairings

Saint Emilion and Pessac-Léognan featured in Masterclasses

This year the two masterclasses are devoted to the finest Saint-Emilion wines and the 30th anniversary of the Pessac-Léognan designation. Visitors will be guided through these two iconic regions of Bordeaux vintages.

Accompanied by someone from Saint-Emilion, visitors will go on a journey through the heart of the Saint-Emilion region’s vintages, the first area in the world listed as a UNESCO world heritage site. A tasting of six Saint-Emilion fine wines is planned.

Aside from this quick field trip, the masterclasses offer a special tasting of a selection of red and white wines from Pessac-Léognan. Isabelle Audouin, certified trainer from the Bordeaux School of Wine, will share her passion for these wines and guide participants during this sumptuous tasting session.

Each ninety-minute Masterclass is led by a wine professional who gives a presentation on the region followed by a guided tasting of six wines. The “Masterclasses” will be offered in a small group in the BIP’s Salle des Guichets, across from the Parc de Bruxelles.
